Miscarriage is a long and painful process. It's a heartbreaking event for a family that was so excited to welcome new preciousness. We're dealing with the loss. I've expressed most of my feelings on old-fashioned paper and I don't want to talk about it, really. I will share a small poem that I wrote last night. I don't want to hear about whether or not the poem is good. It is what it is.

you were precious for seconds
an idea that never came to be
my love lasted for moments
as a life I could see
I'll wait for your return
sweet spirit please return to me

bad poetry, like stale coffee

heartbreak
drives us to sing
of sorrows and wrongs
being committed
sins to fear
atonment for one
imagination without regret
a dry well
