I'm caring for a friend's little boy for a while. I thought about doing a little daily report for his dad so he could see what we did during the day and that his boy is enjoying himself. I included information for my husband as well. I know what it's like to miss out on the little things. I don't know if anyone else would care about our little achievements (potty time) and highlights (watching a movie), but I figure, it's content. I've been so bad about posting to this blog that this might be good filler.

What we did today, Monday, September 22, 2008:
  • Watched cartoons for a while so Amy/Mommy could wake up.
  • Breakfast was strawberry milk (pink moo), Garret-daddy donuts, and yogurt with strawberries. Garret ate 3 donuts plus 2-3 bites of yogurt. Hannah ate 2 donuts plus 3-4 bites of yogurt.
  • Brushed teeth, washed face, got dressed.
  • We looked at pictures of the last night of Yankee Stadium on the computer. Looking at pictures about baseball was very exciting to the kids, but Amy/Mommy got a little choked up.
  • We had some free playtime for about 20 minutes. The tots had trouble sharing and needed help taking turns. There was much crankiness and someone allegedly hit Hannah. Although it wasn’t completely determined who did the hitting, Garrett apologized and hugged her.
  • Amy/Mommy was glad to have the remote control dog with the screams that came from Hannah when he repeatedly lay down on her pillow/blankets.
  • We had some story time then played with trains in Hannah’s room while Amy/Mommy got stuff together to go to the park. We worked on using our words and not screaming (Hannah).
  • Had snack (pretzels & water) and fun at the park. Hannah tried to run off too far ahead when Garrett tripped walking. No injuries and no lost children.
  • When we got home, we played with Garrett’s trucks that were in his suitcase while Amy/Mommy made lunch. Lunch was a little early (almost 11 a.m.) because they both had some cranky pants on. They had milk, chicken nugget dino bites with left over potatoes au gratin and cooked baby carrots. Garrett ate 3 dino bites, all his potatoes (about 1/4 cup), and 5 carrots. Hannah ate almost 3 dino bites, 1 bite of potato, and almost1 carrot.
  • Nappy Time! Garrett was asleep by 11:15 and slept until 2:10. Hannah zonked out 10 minutes later and woke up at 1:25. She watched cartoons in Amy/Mommy’s room while Garrett still slept. Amy/Mommy wanted to sleep but worked on today’s summary, making phone calls, and folding clothes.
  • Snack was fruit snacks and Gatorade.
  • We had another story time, then went in the back yard to play. We came in after 10 whole minutes and started watching Speed Racer.
  • Garrett went home at 3:45.
  • After Garrett went home, Hannah and Mommy had some cuddle time. When Daddy got home, we went to Sinbad's Hotdogs (we got there 10 minutes before closing. lucky, huh?) for a quick bite, then off to the party store for The Blue Party decorations.
What a busy day, right? Actually, it helped to keep a running log all day. I wasn't worried about having to remember anything to tell Garrett's dad because I could type it quickly in the list then forget it. Oh, we also made a potty chart. Even though Garrett is already potty trained, I'm going to use his sticker collection to (hopefully) inspire Hannah to try to earn her gold stars. We'll see if it works.
