What we did today, Monday, September 29, 2008:
• The kids watched Hannah’s new movie “Thomas the Tank Engine and the Great Discovery”.
• Hannah had Benadryl (5 ml) and Motrin (1 tsp) at 6:30 AM.
• Breakfast (7 AM) was scrambled eggs, yogurt, and blueberry muffin. We’ll be eating muffins for days.
• After breakfast the kids played with the Thomas the Tank Engine and the Great Discovery play set that Uncle Josh gave Hannah yesterday. It’s quite a favorite. Then we played with the Legos.
• The children are playing well but want to be bossy with each other. After a few minutes they figured out how to play nicely then went their separate ways and each one played with something different.
• OK, so we’ve exhausted the train, Lego blocks, puzzles, an etch-a-sketch, and the dress up box. Um, sorry Jim. Your kid liked the pink pom-poms. They make a neat rustling sound, that’s it, I’m sure.
• Around 9 AM I put in one of the story book on DVD videos that my mom got (over 100 stories) and the kids loved Harold and the Purple Crayon. Hannah fell asleep about 10 minutes later so I put her in my bed. Garrett missed her for a second and then went straight for the trains. He was thrilled to be playing with the motorized Thomas for about half an hour then moved on to the Lego train.
• Snack for Garrett (10 AM) was fruit salad and cheese with apple juice. Afterwards, he got dressed, washed face and brushed teeth.
• Twice this morning, Garrett let me know he had to go potty without me asking him first!
• Hannah woke up around 10:45 AM without fever and very sweaty. I think she might be through it all (I hope). She didn’t want a snack and I left her in PJs a little while longer since she still was quite groggy.
• One load of dishes down, 2-3 more.
• The kids wanted to watch the Harold cartoon again. I let them watch it until 11 AM, then Hannah’s face was washed and teeth brushed. We went outside for about 20-30 minutes before lunch.
• Garrett is walking around saying “Hannah say Panda!” which is my way of knowing which room the kids are in. She answered “I ca-aant!”
• Lunch (11:45 AM) was chicken nuggets, corn, and goldfish with milk in an open cup. They both ate pretty well. Dessert was a chocolate chip cookie. Brad came home and had some soup with us.
• Garrett went down for nap really quickly and slept from 12:15 to 3:50 PM. I tried to wake him up at 3:30 PM, but he asked me to let him stay sleeping. Hannah didn’t sleep but lay in her bed quietly until 2 PM. I dozed off next to her and woke up groggy.
• Hannah played with her trains and read books until Garrett woke up. She helped me take out the recycling. She seemed to be feeling well again. Maybe her fever was just bad allergies and too much birthday party.
• Snack (3:50 PM) was fruit snacks and pink moo.
• The kids played with the magnetic dress up dolls.
• We played with play dough waiting for Jim. Garrett went home around 4:45 PM.
• Hannah and I hooked up her Leap Frog computer. She wasn’t very interested in and wouldn’t pay attention.
• Ah, Brad is home at 6 PM and here we go with the Star Wars ATV that Garrett gave her.
