What we did today, Wednesday, September 24, 2008:

• Garrett watched Dora the Explorer waiting for Hannah to wake up. She slept until 7:30 AM.
• Breakfast (8 AM) was Eggo French Toast waffles. Garrett ate one and a half with Gatorade. Hannah finished one waffle with pink moo juice.
• Garrett brushed his teeth and washed face early on.
• I gave Garrett Benadryl (5 ml/1 tsp) at about 7:15 AM. He was making the snnnaaarrrkkk noises with his nose and nothing would blow out. I think those snark noises are cute, but I know they aren’t so comfortable for the snarker.
• Rocky start this morning. Hannah has her cranky pants on. According to her, poor Garrett just can’t do anything right. “Look at Garrett!” she whined. “Yeah, he is playing with a truck,” I said. “LOOK at him!” she whined again. It’s only 8:30 AM at this point. Oh boy.
• We got ready and out the door for our play date right on schedule! The kids had fun. Susanne’s little boy was so excited to have Garrett to play with. They were fast friends. Hannah played by herself but around the other kids. I had a nice time visiting with another very sleepy grown up while the kids pulled out every toy in three rooms.
• Snack (at Susanne’s) was cheddar bunnies, apple, and chocolate covered rice cakes. I know what you’re thinking about the rice cakes, but the kids asked for more. Chocolate is chocolate, right?
• Lunch for the kids was macaroni and cheese and homemade honey wheat bread with apple juice (H) or orange juice (G). Yum yum. Hannah and Garrett both ate like champs.
• Hannah was the first to nod off in the car on the way home at just under four blocks away. Garrett made it one mile. Both went straight into nappy time when we got home.
• I took time during nap to relax a little before we had to go get Nephew Nathan from school.
• We picked up Nate, fed him, let him do his homework and played. Today was full of friends and fun.
• Garrett went home at 4:45 PM.
• Dinner was an experiment. Not a complete failure, but I’m not as instinctual as I thought I was and I apparently don’t know how to make gravy. Oh, and my daughter totally did a classic cartoon spit-out with the drop biscuits I tried to make from scratch.
