The most Thursday-like Thursday of Thursdays

The goal this morning was to get out of the house and in the car by 9 AM and to Susanne's house by 9:30 AM. I believe we were 7 minutes early. Hooray! Hannah had toasty sticks and pink moo while I got us ready to go.

After we got to Susanne's house and she took off for her appointment, I double checked everyone's potty status and we put coats on and walked to our play date which was just a few blocks away. Hannah took off running as soon as we were out the door. That wasn't OK so she got a little talking to right off the bat. The kids did well holding hands crossing the street and it didn't take very long to get where we were going. It was interesting for me to be at someone's house that I don't know past a brief introduction, but the group was very welcoming. The kids had a good time and got along pretty well. Of course, I had to remind each one of them once or twice to settle down around the babies and they listened well. We read some stories and the kids had popcorn and brownies and other treats for a snack. Each one had some sort of teary spot during the play date but it was just drama and not much else. Of course, Hannah's episode came while I was in the restroom and I when I was finished, I found her sobbing uncontrollably. Poor punkin had her feelings hurt by her friend. That was a whirlwind of an outing.

Susanne offered to feed us lunch if we wanted to hang out at her house for a little while. (Thanks again, Susanne!) I love hanging out with her so I took her up on the offer. The kids ate macaroni and cheese, apple slices, and chips. Hannah was more interested in playing than eating so she really didn't eat much. The kids played some more while Susanne and I ate our lunch.

We got home just before 3 PM. Hannah didn't sleep in the car so we drove past the trains in Victorian Square. We repeated the new nap routine with the timer like we did yesterday. It worked really well. She was almost asleep even before the timer went off so I rubbed her feet for two lullabies and she was zonked. It was around 3:20 PM when she fell asleep and I woke her up at about 4:5o PM.

We cuddled and watched cartoons.

Brad got home around 5:45 PM.
