Wednesday, Garrett's first day back!

I've got Garrett again while his dad is working in Sparks. We're very excited to spend time with him again. This blog will serve dual purpose now. Not only will I be updating Brad on Hannah's day, but also for Jim to stay informed of his son's day with us. I hope the rest of you enjoy tagging along for the ride.

Garrett was dropped off around 6:15 AM. Brad hung out with him while I took a shower. He had cereal in milk for breakfast. Cartoon. Garrett played with blocks and cars while we waited for Hannah to wake up. He loves that Hannah has cars and trains to play with but thinks she needs some dirt bikes.

Hannah slept until about 8 AM when I woke her up. She still had a little stuffy nose and watery eyes but otherwise seemed OK. I gave her generic Benadryl around 8:30 AM. She saw Garrett and jumped right out of (my) bed. Pink moo and toasty sticks. Of course, she barely ate because she was excited her friend was here. Garrett also had some strawberry milk. He likes it a lot.

Everyone was brushed and washed by 9 AM. Note: it takes approximately half an hour to sunscreen, potty, and shoe two children and one grown up.

We went to the park for about half an hour. The kids had some fruit snack and gold fish crackers for a snack while we there. We had the place to ourselves and they got a little bored. On the way back, we had to have a little discussion about not running into the street so we don't get squashed and killed by cars. We (ha ha, like that? We.) talked about listening to me because I'm not here for background noise and that I'm trying to keep them safe.

They played with play dough for about half an hour then played in Hannah's room for a bit.

Lunch: Peanut butter and jelly with mandarin orange slices and apple juice-boxes. Vanilla wafers for dessert.

Since we were on a bit of an early track with lunch, I let the kids play for another 20-30 minutes before I put them down for nap.

Nap time: Down at 12 PM with the instructions to lay quietly. A half hour and a couple of warnings later, Hannah was laying/playing quietly and Garrett was fast asleep. Another half hour later and Hannah finally fell asleep. Garrett was still asleep when his dad picked him up around 3:45 PM. Hannah woke up just after they left.

Cartoon, yogurt cup and juice. Benadryl again at 4:30 PM. Hannah helped me pick up toys. Brad got home around 5:15 PM.

[Skip this if you don't care what I was up to. Don't give me that look, I know it's all about the kids. It's like this: If I don't write it down, it's like it didn't happen, yeah? Well, I'm tired for a reason and I'm going to put it in this blog to remind myself that I'm not just a cook and care provider. I'm also the maid. I'll keep it separated so you can volunteer to be bored with my daily lot or pass over it if you wish.

Aside from entertaining, feeding, & toilet training children and the various prep and clean up involved, I swept the entry way, scheduled Petey's dental cleaning, cleaned the hall bathroom, and picked up all of the toys. Oh, you can just assume that I've done one, two, or three loads of laundry each day. I've given up on trying to do it just twice a week. It's a daily occurrence now. I blogged, of course. I also watched about 30 minutes of TV, believe it or not.]
