Catching up -- Posted by Amy
It's been a while since the last posts. Brad's Uncle Jim passed away last week. Things have been a little hectic here and in Portola. We are all grieving as best we can. I'm sad that Hannah won't get to know him. May he rest in peace.
Hannah is growing like a weed - like the weeds in the back yard as a matter of fact. She is talking so well and surprises us everyday with the things she says. Of course she's very bossy about what she says. [sighs] Our little darling gave us a highlight this weekend by making a BM in the potty. Everyone was so excited and much hooting and hollering, dancing and jumping happened.
We are taking the Chevy in to the Auto Shop on Friday as it is overheating. Nice. You know, between the cars, we'd have one nice one. The Honda runs great but there's a problem with the A/C. It works at night and on cloudy days. The Chevy has A/C but keeps having problems. If I were a mechanic, I'd be tempted to make some sort of Frankenstein car.
A birthday party supply catalog came in the mail for the former residents of this house. Hannah squealed and has been chanting "I want my party!" (sounds like potty) She's also started with the "I want" mantra when we go shopping. It started out cute. . .
What else? um, the Sushi House on Baring Boulevard, across from Reed High, was very yummy and the people working there are fabulous. Cleaned up spilled milk without hating us. Of course, we went on a Monday night, so they weren't very busy. Hannah loved the sesame chicken from the Chinese restaurant that's attached. I was surprised because it had a little pepper/kick to it.
We are counting days between illness and keeping fingers crossed that people stay healthy. This smoke doesn't help, but a 24 hour allergy pill helps.
I don't have much else. We're keeping our chins up as best we can and trudging through the days until they get better.
