What we did today, Friday, September 26, 2008:
• Hannah was awake almost as soon as Garrett got here.
• While they were still watching cartoons and I was getting some coffee, I heard Hannah say “It’s not time to be funny yet!”
• This morning, I turned on the annoying Higglytown Heroes just to re-spark interest in the toys we spent good money on that no one plays with. Yeah, didn’t work.
• Breakfast (8 AM) was toasted raisin English muffins with cherry preserves and strawberry milk (pink moo). Garrett said this was his Favorite. He ate about half a muffin/one slice of toast. Hannah ate the jelly off her toast then pulled out all of the raisins but didn’t eat any toast.
• We listened to some kids music and played for a little bit while I folded clothes.
• Before 9 AM, Hannah and Garrett were running through the hall and Hannah ran into a wall. She’s OK. After that, I said “No running!” and so they went to jump on the bed where Hannah promptly fell off and landed on her back. She seems OK. They are now planted on the sofa and are not to move under fear of the Very Mad Mommy. Today is the day to watch Lilo & Stitch, I think. “What’s your badness level?” Oops. Someone just tried to get bouncy, I gave the raised eyebrow look that I’ve been practicing and in slow motion he stopped and laid his head down and watched the movie. I’m getting good at it, I think.
• Snack (10 AM): graham crackers and cheese stick with water in an open cup.
• We brushed teeth, washed faces, and went outside. First, we went in the front yard so I could pull in the recycling bins and water the roses. Then, we went out back to color with chalk and dig in the dirt.
• Lunch (11:45 AM) was Spaghetti-os with franks, peaches, crackers, and milk. Garrett loved lunch, Hannah ate after a minute or two when she was sure it wasn’t poisoned and Garrett seemed to be OK. Brad came home for lunch and ate his soup with us.
• Nap (12:15 – 2:45 PM): They both went straight into bed. Garrett wanted his backed rubbed and Hannah wanted me to lay down with her but fell asleep waiting for me to finish rubbing Garrett’s back.
• After nap, they played with trucks for a little while.
• Garrett got a 3-minute time out for hitting Petey (closed fist punch). We talked about it and I made him apologize to me and the dog.
• Snack was popcorn and Gatorade.
• We went outside to play for a little while and put dirt all over the back patio.
• Garrett went home around 5:30 PM. Brad got home around the same time with fast food.
• After dinner I spent way too much money on food and it was after 10 PM before I got home and we got all of the groceries put away. Brad hung some pictures that we’ve been sitting on and Hannah was a big helper.
