What we did today, Thursday, September 25, 2008:

[I think I forgot to mention yesterday that we clipped fingernails on both kids. You know, one sees the other getting it done and wants to do it, too!]
• Garrett watched Play House Disney waiting for Hannah to wake up. He sang quiet little songs while laying down and playing with his fingers. It was really cute. Hannah slept until 7:30 AM.
• Garrett asked Hannah if she wanted to share his motorcycles. Aw, it was sweet, except the motorcycles went home with him yesterday. Silly billy boy.
• I planned a pretty easy day. The kids got to stay in their PJs until after morning snack.
• Did I tell you the sofa isn’t big enough to fit two little people who can’t be more than three feet tall? And forget trying to put a beagle up there as well.
• Breakfast (8:15 AM) was donuts and cheesy scrambled eggs. Garrett ate about 1 egg and 3 donuts with Gatorade. Hannah gobbled 1 1/2 donuts but only half an egg with pink moo juice.
• Play time: building blocks and shape sorting the blocks into the lid of the bucket. Great sharing and great taking turns from both of them.
• The kids colored for a bit while I tried to gather laundry. It was pretty funny watching them try to identify each other’s pictures. “What’s that?” over and over again.
• Puzzles were next, but that didn’t last long.
• I think Garrett was just singing Queen’s “We Will Rock You”.
• I planned a pretty easy day. The kids got to stay in their PJs until 9:30 AM when they were starting to drive me bonkers running around.
• Hannah went on the Potty!
• Then . . . meltdown after Petey tried to eat a stuffie and Hannah stepped on a toy. Time for forced relaxation while I try to brush teeth and comb hair and give Hannah the nebulizer. I turned on a pirate story on CD that came with a kid’s meal deal and let them read stories.
• We clipped little toenails today. Again it was a case of monkey sees, monkey says “Do me too!”
• Morning snack (10 AM) was canned peaches and water from a Two Hand Cup (no lid). Garrett: chowed down on 5-6 slices. Hannah: refused to eat then managed 1-2 slices.
• We went out to the back yard and played with sidewalk chalk and shovel/spoon and bucket.
• Garrett yells at a passing plane "Go Airplane!" Hannah then follows with "Go Speed Racer!" That's my girl.
• When we came in we cleaned up Hannah’s room, then settled down in front Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
• I gave Garrett Benadryl (5 ml/1 tsp) at 11:30 AM because his little nose would not quit running and he was pretty sneezy. Hannah and I were also a little sneezy today but we had taken Zyrtec last night.
• Lunch (12 PM) was ham and cheese sandwiches, baby carrots and ranch, one Oreo cookie, and orange juice. Garrett ate about 3/4 of his sandwich and 3 carrots like a champ. Hannah dissected her sandwich and dipped various slices of meat and bread into the ranch. She ate maybe half sandwich and told me carrots were for bunnies. Both kids thanked me for making lunch without being prompted!
• Naptime (12:30 – 2:30 PM): Garret goes out like a light. Hannah wiggled on until I lay down with her then she was out. I got laundry going, started dishes, straightened up, and packed up our Bye-bye bag. I woke the kids up at 2:30 PM to go get Nathan and head to my mom’s house.
• Snack was generic cheddar Chex mix in the car while we waited for Nate. Then we went to Hannah’s grandparents’ house for tacos.
• Garrett went home close to 5 PM.
