What we did today, Tuesday, September 30, 2008:
• The morning started out with the kids playing with the electric train. Then after they both went potty, they played separately. Garrett chose Potato Heads and Hannah played with the dress up box and dress up dolls. I had to help them understand that they could each play with different things as each tried to convince the other to play the same thing, unsuccessfully.
• Both kids went into time out before breakfast because I had to ask twice for them to stop running in the hall way. I don't ask three times.
• Breakfast (7:30 AM) was alphabet cereal with banana (1/2 cup cereal with milk and half a banana each). Garrett ate all of it, of course. Hannah had to be threatened with sitting in her chair all day until she ate. She ended up gulping all of it down as she heard the sounds of Garrett having fun with out her. It still took her 45 minutes to finish.
• 8:30 AM and the kids are in their 2nd timeout. They were screaming at each other and someone hit someone else while I tried to clean up after breakfast. This time Garrett got to sit in my room on the sofa and watch TV while everyone calmed down. Hannah got to sit in her bed without her baby pony. After a few minutes Hannah got to come out of bed and apologized to Garrett as I figured out she was the hitter.
• We did nebulizer for Hannah close to 9 AM.
• Snack (9:30 AM) was yogurt with water in an open cup. These guys are doing pretty good without sippy lids, except Hannah tries to wash her food in the water.
• It took 45 minutes to get ready for a walk with potty time, shoes on, etc. My daughter spent 15 minutes of that in and out of time out for not listening. Then as we tried to leave and started out the door, my precious took off running down the driveway and down the street before I was all the way out the door. She was banished to bed then made to apologize to Garrett for ruining his trip to the park.
• We went out back for a little bit and played catch and played with some soapy water.
• When we came in we watched Monsters Inc. while I made lunch.
• Brad came home to eat his soup with us.
• Garrett had a time out for hitting Petey.
• I gave Hannah Motrin (1 tsp.) at 11:45 AM because her fever had returned at 101.9 in the ear.
• Lunch (12:15 PM) was homemade corn dogs, string cheese, and grapes. They each ate enough lunch to have some cookie. Hannah took a lot longer and more fighting to get there though. Garrett was in bed and asleep before Hannah had finished eating.
• Nap time for Garrett was 12:30 – 4:30 PM. Hannah went down from 12:45 – 5 PM. I fell asleep with them. I don’t know how long Garrett was awake because he was lying quietly on his bed when I woke up in a panic because his dad would be there any minute.
• Brad came home a little early, which was nice.
• Snack was a little bit of Chex mix and Gatorade while Garrett was on his way out the door.

I can't believe Hannah and Garrett sleep for so long at naptime! You have to share your secret. I'm lucky if Matt takes a one hour nap!!
actually, we all just conked out today. to be fair, Garrett is up by 5 AM for his dad to drive up from Dayton to be at work in Sparks by 7 AM. So he's just tuckered out everyday. Hannah is fighting allergies so she was still sleepy when I woke her at 5 PM. I didn't want to be up all night by letting her sleep.
They usually do sleep two hours a day on average. One thing I do is play a lullaby CD that doesn't have words and put it on repeat. http://www.amazon.com/Childs-Gift-Lullabyes-Emile-Pandolfi/dp/B000H0MNDK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1222837710&sr=1-9
I think this is a cute blog ;) actually a great idea for those whos' husbands think that a wife & kids just stay at home watching tv all day ;)
they will appreciate when they are older~
thanks for the comment, izabella. it really does help me feel better about my day, also. I can look back and see why I didn't get the house clean and be OK with that because I really was busy. I can also look back and get a little perspective that maybe it wasn't as bad a day as it felt when I was going through it.
