What we did today, Monday, October 20, 2008
• After a rough night of sick baby, including an emergency tepid-water bath at one o’clock in the morning, I let Hannah sleep in. I was up around 9 AM but she slept until 11 AM. I stayed next to her in bed, reading, as that was the only way she would stay asleep.
• Breakfast was toasty sticks and pink moo. Amazingly she ate some of it. She hasn’t had an appetite all weekend.
• Hannah played with her Leapfrog game for a while, and then Brad came home with Percy, a Thomas the Tank engine pal, and a book for Hannah.
• After Brad went back to work, Hannah watched Star Wars and played with her dolls.
• Hannah and I took a walk to buy a paper but the corner machine was empty, so we walked around for another block or so. We didn’t find any other machines but got to crunch some leaves and look at Halloween decorations. The idea of the walk was to get Hannah (and me) some fresh air and a little ultraviolet light. I think it did her some good. We started to take Petey with us but he started making a sort of shnorthing sound like he was trying to blow his nose (do dogs do that?) so we left him behind in the back yard to scream about our departure alone.
• I tried to get Hannah to eat some cereal and she refused, so I tried to get her to rest for a little while before we had to go to her appointment.
• We went to see the pediatrician and Hannah didn’t have a fever when we went so the doctor thought that she might be over whatever it was that she had. She still took a strep culture and we took it to the lab. We left downtown Reno around 5 PM which means that it took us over half an hour to get home. Brad was already home when we go there and Hannah was asleep in her car seat.
• Hannah’s fever came back a few minutes after we got home.
