What we did today, Wednesday, October 22, 2008
• We slept until just before 9 AM. Hannah has a fever again. It is right at 101 in the ear, so I took off her PJs and put her in her summer Princess nightgown. She’s still not 98.6, but she’s cooling down. If she continues a fever, I’ll give her Motrin, but for now, let’s see how she does. I want to see if letting her body burn off the bug will help get her over this. That’s what fevers are for, right, to burn off the germy bugs?
• Hannah sat and zoned with her pink moo for a while. I hate plopping her in front of the TV, but she actually sits still and rests. I can deprogram her when she’s better. We usually have the TV off for most of the day, whether my daily summaries reflect that or not.
• Breakfast was scrambled eggs and toast with jelly. Hannah wanted to watch the toaster for me. It startled her off her stool and into tears for five minutes, poor thing. Halloween might be too much. Hannah ate almost all of her eggs, some of the jelly, and one bite of scary, jumping toast.
• We turned on the radio and played for a while then we read stories for the longest time.
• Brad came home for lunch and we had leftover spaghetti and buttered toast. We really like seeing Daddy at lunchtime. Hannah ate a few forced bites.
• Hannah fell asleep around 1 PM. She jumped right into bed all by herself and waited while I cleaned up after lunch, without me asking her to. She woke up close to 3 PM. She’s still warm, but only borderline on the fever. She just wants to lie around, and I’ll let her for a while.
• We had popcorn for snack since it’s a favorite that Hannah has never turned down. She had two or three pieces and was done. I don’t know how to make her hungry.
• We read books, played puzzles, and hung out. She didn’t want to go outside.
• Brad got home close to 6 PM with Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n Bake pizza. Good stuff.
