Hannah woke me up around 8:30 AM. She said, "Mommy, I thought you was a giant." Then, she started singing "We wish you a merry Christmas." Very cute. We cuddled and talked for a little while.
(9 AM) Breakfast was yogurt with jelly and powdered mini doughnuts. She had a lot of fun playing with the doughnuts.
Hannah got to watch cartoons while I showered. We had a mini-manicure and some cuddles and then we got ready to go to the park. She asked me if she could wear her new green hair tie and new pink hair clips.
(Noon-ish) We left a message for Papa at his house if he wanted to join us because we were going to the park across the street from the fire station and it's close to their house. Hannah made a fuss that we had to take her "sucker" to the park. I finally figured out that she meant her soccer ball. The kid is only good for three or four kicks and her attention span is spent. Papa and Momo got to the park just after we did. Hannah was very excited to see them. Papa played with Hannah and I sat with my mom in the sun on a bench and we chatted. There were some bigger kids who must be in year-round school or home schooled and they owned the playground. One kid almost ran over Hannah and it was a close call that she didn't get hurt. Momo and Papa left a little before Hannah was ready to leave, so we stayed and played for a few more minutes. Hannah was pushing an empty swing for fun. She turned to see who was driving by with loud music and got smacked in the face with the swing. She cried really big but I couldn't see any damage at first. She calmed down quickly and asked if we were going to the [fabric] store. I saw the redness start when we got in the car but it still didn't look bad. By the time we got to the craft store, her owie was turning blue.
When we got to the fabric store, Hannah helped me pick out some yarn for crocheting more scarves. I've had a couple of requests that would make for fun projects. She also picked out a pink yarn for herself that I should make a necklace for her. I think she means scarf.
(1:45 PM) Hannah had leftover pizza for lunch with some pineapple bits in strawberry gel (odd little fruit cup) and a juice box. She ate pretty good.
(2:15 PM) Hannah wiggled and played in bed for a few minutes. I sat on the end of her bed and she went right to sleep. She said her owie hurt before she nodded off. Poor thing. I did some blogging and reading of blogs. She slept for a long while. I tried not to let it go too far past two hours, but she was sleeping so soundly. I woke her up at 4:30 PM.
(4:40 PM) My friend needed someone to watch her 11 year old for a little while, so she dropped him off. He finished his homework and then Hannah got him to play dolls with her. Hey, if he's willing and it's not me having to crouch down on the floor, more power to him. That, of course, only lasted a couple of minutes, then they went to play with cars. Brenden was a big help by keeping Hannah busy and so I was able to get dinner started.
Brad got home close to 5:30 PM.
