I woke up just before 8 AM. Hannah woke up about 15 minutes later. We both woke up alone in our own beds. This is big. I'm rested and she's rested. Marshmallow cereal in milk and pink moo for breakfast. I gave her 1/2 tsp of Benadryl since she was sneezing and rubbing her eyes and had a little runny nose.
One of my brother's friend's had a babysitting emergency so I agreed to watch an infant today. The morning was spent trying to straighten up and talk to Hannah about what babysitting will mean for us today.
The baby, Evelyn, got here around 10:30 AM. Hannah was really ready to be a big girl. She liked to watch the baby then got interested in the baby's toys. She kept wanting me to feed the baby and make her sleep, so we had a talk about how the baby was real and not a toy. Also, we talked about how I was the baby's boss, not Hannah.
Hannah ate raisins for snack. Then went out in the back yard for about 15-20 minutes and played. She was disappointed that the baby couldn't play ball or go down the slide and that I couldn't just put the baby on the ground or the table so that I could play with her.
Hannah ate all of her 1 1/2 scrambled eggs, almost all of her toast with butter and jelly, and a whole fruit cup with apple juice to drink. I managed to eat lunch with Hannah while giving the baby her bottle at the same time. Yeah, I'm awesome that way. Or lucky.
Hannah went right to bed after nap and fell asleep right away before the timer went off. She slept for about 2 1/2 hours. She was excited that the baby was still here when she woke up.
Snack was chocolate milk and graham crackers.
Hannah had a little trouble letting me be the babysitter, but overall she was a good helper. I tried to call her baby-girl like I always do and she said, "I not a baby!" So, she's growing up all of a sudden. [Sniff, sniff.]
Brad got home at about 6 PM and took Hannah out back to play. Evelyn's mom got here about 15 minutes later.
