Hannah climbed into bed with us at around 4:30 AM after a bad dream. Someone took her toy, she said. She slept until about 8:30 AM. Cereal in milk for breakfast.
Braedyn and Emily came to play today. Susanne stuck around for a few minutes and watched them while I showed off the hole in our bathroom wall to a pair of contractors. The phone rang a few times and the kids were running a muck with the excitement of seeing each other again after a couple of days. There was a healthy amount of chaos. It reminded me of that scene from the movie "Mr. Mom" when the plumber, cable person, and a couple others all showed up at the same time then the baby ate chili. It was like that, without the baby and chili, thank goodness. Then, Susanne went shopping for a bit.
The kids played outside then they played inside. Toys, toys, toys! Oh and one large cardboard box kept them busy for a while.
Lunch for the kids was hot dogs with macaroni and cheese and sliced carrots washed down with a juice box. I didn't have the mac 'n cheese in the box, but I did have some velveeta and pasta shells. It turned out pretty good. They had the rest of the S'mores for dessert.
Back outside again after lunch. I filled a bucket with some soapy water and gave them some sponges. They had a blast washing the play house and slide, patio, chairs, rocks, anything that didn't move.
Susanne brought back lunch for me and her. (Thanks again, Susanne!) The kids watched a few minutes of cartoon while we ate and then played some more in Hannah's room.
When the kids left, Hannah went right down for nap. She fell asleep quickly. I spent the time going through the mail, organizing bills, and reconciling accounts. She slept for about two hours.
Goldfish crackers and pink moo for snack.
Brad got home around 4:30 PM. He's not feeling well and left work early.
