Garrett: dropped off by 6:15 AM. Pink moo during cartoons while waiting for Hannah to wake up. He said he wasn't hungry. He tried very hard and mostly stayed quiet. Hannah woke up around 8 AM. Pink moo and toasty sticks for her.
We got ready and went to the library to return Hannah's books. They tried jumping on the steps in the kid's area, but that's more the step's fault because it was way too tempting. Both kids sat very still and listened like super champs during story time. I was very proud and gushed positive reinforcement (praise) at them.
Snack: yogurt cups.
The kids played outside for about an hour and they didn't get injured or upset about anything. I praised them both.
Lunch: beans and weenies with leftover cornbread and juice.
Today, I tried something different for nap. I put Garrett's mat in Hannah's room and pulled in a chair for myself. I read them two stories that we had picked up at the library today and then read my own book to myself while I waited for them to go to sleep. Hannah actually fell asleep first. They slept for about three hours.
Snack: fruit snack and pink moo. Cartoon.
The kids did a craft with stamps and letter stickers. We talked about the letters they were putting on their artwork and the words that go with them. Then we said "Hello" in seven languages, which was very cute.
Brad got home around 5:15 PM. Jim picked up Garrett about 15 minutes later.
[The boring bit about me: I started reading the new book for book club. I swept the kitchen, entry, and pantry.]
